Oscar the Grouch is one of the favorite Muppets on Sesame Street. Everyone knows and loves their favorite grouchy green friend Oscar the Grouch and throwing an Oscar the Grouch party is a way to celebrate him at your next birthday party.
Planning an Oscar the Grouch party is simple and fun once you get the basics out of the way. Obviously a terrific color palate for an Oscar the Grouch party is green. Pre-printed plates, cups, balloons and napkins are available at many discount or party stores. However, if you are looking to save a couple of bucks, head to your local dollar or party outlet store to purchase plain green plates, napkins, plasticware and balloons.
For added fun at your Oscar the Grouch party, have fun letting the guests take their turn in the trash! Get a large, new, clean aluminum trash can from a local hardware store. Throw in some wadded up paper and have the kids take turn getting in the can and having their picture taken. Fasten a belt or strap to the trash can lid and have the children place it on their heads just like Oscar the Grouch’s hat!
Remember that while Oscar may be a Grouch, an Oscar the Grouch party is always a good time. Pull out some Sesame Street videos and play his signature tune, “I Love Trash” in the background at the party. This favorite song will have everyone singing and will add to the atmosphere of the party.
